Welcome to Ibstock & Barlestone Surgeries

Welcome to our practice website.  There’s lots of useful information on this site about our practice and your health.  If you’re new to the area we would love to have you as one of our patients. Please see the ‘New Patients’ part of this site for details.

We are a training practice and so we regularly have fully qualified doctors who are now training to become GPs working with us. We also regularly participate in research studies to help improve medicine for everybody.

Patients with a special need or requirement

If you have a disability, impairment or sensory loss please let any of our clinicians or staff know.  We will then arrange to communicate with you in a way that suits you best.  We will also add a note to your patient record so we are aware of this for the future.

Our Patient Participation Group (PPG) are raising funds for the surgery via their annual Christmas Hamper Raffle.

Tickets are £1 per strip and are available for purchase from either Ibstock or Barlestone reception 🎟

The Raffle will be drawn week commencing 18th December 2023, so you have plenty of time to purchase your tickets 🎅🤶

The PPG is an independent group of patients who care about the way in which our practice is run and the services it can provide. In recent years, the PPG has used funds they have raised for the purchase of:

🎁 A centrifuge machine – a device that enables many patients to have their blood test taken in the afternoons, in addition to our morning appointments

🎁 A portable ECG Machine

🎁 A blood pressure machine for patients to use in our Ibstock waiting room

🎁 A nebuliser

🎁 A phlebotomy chair

🎁 Examination Couches

The Surgery is very grateful to the PPG and all patients who have donated to their

fund raising events and activities over the years.

Unfortunately our staff have experienced some very aggressive behaviour recently from a very small minority of the public. This is absolutely unacceptable and so we will be strictly enforcing our zero tolerance policy going forward. We thank the vast majority of our patients for the kindness and patience with which they treat our staff. It is very much appreciated in these difficult times.

Please see below the minutes from our last Patient Participation Group (PPG) Meeting!
