If you are having your medicines dispensed at Barlestone Surgery please allow up to 4 working days.
(Excluding weekends and Bank Holidays)
For your safety we are unable to accept requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone.
Prescriptions can be sent electronically to the chemist of your choice, or they can be collected from the surgery
Barlestone dispensing patients can have their prescriptions delivered by our dedicated delivery service. Please contact reception for more information.
If you have run out of medication or need a prescription quickly, please speak to the receptionist and we will do our best to help you.
If we are closed you are usually able to get an emergency supply of medication from your local chemist or you can contact 111 who should be able to help.
We now have the facility to send your prescriptions electronically to the pharmacy of your choosing (assuming they have signed up to electronic prescriptions). If you use this system when you ask for a repeat and it is approved, it will go electronically to the pharmacy you nominate. They will download the prescription and prepare your medication.
Electronic prescribing works well for patients who are stable on their medication and collect from the same pharmacy all the time. If you wish to collect medication from a pharmacy near your work, this can easily be arranged if they are registered for EPS. If you are interested in this system, please speak to our reception who can give you more details or set this up for you.
